Precision agriculture

It was more than 11,500 years ago, that nascent farmers began to plant wild grains around. Thousands of years later, agriculture is yet to experience a revolution that can face the challenges associated to our growing global population that calls for sustainable food security. Biotechnology, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics is enabling the development of precision agriculture. Our research focuses on the use of agricultural waste to produce nanostructured materials for precision agriculture and food security. We design fit-for-purpose biochar that match Amazonian Black Earth (Terra preta) for soil remediation.
